Clearwater resident and former WBO cruiserweight champion of the world Tyrone Booze provided “Off the Cuff” with a phenomenal interview in the summer of 2016. Booze spoke about his career, the state of professional boxing, Olympic and amateur boxing, the Sarasota area’s potential to become a boxing hotbed, and his time working in sports talk radio.

Booze, who claimed the WBO strap 24 years ago when he overcame 33-to-1 odds to defeat Derek Angol in Manchester, England, fought Evander Holyfield, Bert Cooper, Henry Tillman, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Johnny DuPlooy and Dwight Braxton during a professional career that spanned 16 years.
