FHSAA moves state title football games for 1A-4A back a week

In order to help the Central Florida Sports Commission and Camping World Stadium accommodate the ACC Football Championship Game on Dec. 3, the Florida High School Athletic Association announced on Thursday morning that it is moving back the state championship football games in Classes 1A-4A to the week of December 8-10.

The weekend of December 8-10 will feature the state championship games for all classifications in Florida (Classes 1A-8A). The state championship games for Classes 5A-8A were originally scheduled for the weekend of December 8-10.

“We are grateful to the FHSAA for their flexibility as we worked with the City of Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports to bring the ACC Championship Game to Orlando,” said Central Florida Sports Commission Interim President and CEO Jason Siegel.  “We are fortunate to have them as a longtime partner and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
