Ricky Jones Jr. lauded by Hoosiers for special teams play (w/ YouTube video)

Booker High graduate Ricky Jones Jr., an Indiana University graduate and fifth-year senior wide receiver for the Hoosiers, was honored as the program’s Special Teams Player of the Game for his performance in last Saturday’s 24-14 loss to Northwestern.

In addition to hauling in seven passes for 73 yards against the Wildcats, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound Jones registered two tackles and recorded the first blocked punt of his career. Jones currently ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 539 receiving yards and seventh with 4.4 receptions per game for Indiana, which has dropped three straight since moving to 3-1 with a 24-21 win over Michigan State on Oct. 1.
