IMG Ascenders looking to remain unbeaten on Senior Night

The IMG Academy Ascenders (9-0) football team is ready to take on Baltimore’s St. Frances Academy Panthers (10-1) for the final home game at IMG Academy Stadium, on Saturday night at 7. It will be Senior Night for the class of 2017, and the matchup also marks the first postseason bowl game in the program’s history.

The Ascenders are riding a regular season winning streak of 27 games entering the contest. Leading the way offensively has been Texas A&M commit Kellen Mond. With two games remaining on the schedule, Mond has been on a mission to re-write the IMG Academy records book. With 33 combined touchdowns, Mond owns the Ascenders single-season total touchdowns record. His 18 passing scores tie the program best (three times, last Shea Patterson, 2015), and his 15 rushing touchdowns are second all-time, only behind current Alabama tailback Bo Scarbrough who scored 16 times on the ground in 2013.

Defensively, the Ascenders have shut out four of the past five opponents, and haven’t been scored on since the second half of the Jacksonville Trinity Christian game on Oct. 21.

The game will also be available via live stream on Facebook Live at the following URL:  www.facebook.com/IMGAcademy
